Founded in New England
in 1959, Wilshire Mfg. has evolved into one of the world's most
sophisticated manufacturers of custom-designed, decorative lighting
for hospitality, commercial, institutional and residential interiors.
Personal supervision
guides every step of the design process - from selection of materials
through design and final fabrication - to preserve the reputation
Wilshire has earned so carefully over the past four decades.
Wilshire's team consists
of experts versed in every aspect of the process: the aesthetic,
the engineering, the manufacturing and the practical considerations
of interior design - from the most complex hospitality installation
to a simpler residential plan.
Wilshire's engineering
and design team annually creates hundreds of unique chandeliers,
sconces and other fine lighting, which add to an impressive array
of more than 5,000 existing Wilshire designs that reflect a variety
of styles and historical periods.
Hi-Tech
Tools That Create Lasting Beauty.
Supporting Wilshire's
professionals are the most advanced technology tools for even
greater flexibility, time savings and cost efficiency.
Wilshire's computer-driven
CAD systems are coupled with technology to support design, customization
and manufacturing. Designs are created and transferred to the
laser machine electronically, enabling Wilshire to avoid the
timely, costly process of tool and die making. The Result: a
higher quality, lower cost, more precise product. This technology
permits a whole new level of flexibility for designers, engineers
and clients to make changes quickly and easily. In addition,
Wilshire works within any size budget and is thoroughly committed
to meeting project completion dates.
The Rarest
and Finest Materials Crafted Into Masterworks of Art.
A treasure of the world's
richest, most desired materials are among those employed to craft
the Wilshire product lines:
- Lead crystal, including
that of the celebrated Swarovski Company of Austria.
- Fine mouth-blown,
hand-etched art glass elements from artisans around the world.
- Shaped, beveled, facet-cut
prisms.
- Authentic alabaster.
- Actual gold, silver,
brass and bronze, among other materials.
- The finest European
castings.

The Most
Meticulous Manufacturing Paired With Old-World Hand Craftsmanship.
Wilshire's new 200,000-square-foot
facility in Taunton, MA is home for the manufacturing - stamping,
polishing, plating, painting, spinning, laser cutting, finishing
and assembling of all metal components.
This modern plant has
fully integrated fabrication processes that make Wilshire true
master craftsmen of customized lighting. These advanced capabilities
permit extreme accuracy in production and unparalleled customization.
Although Wilshire relies
on the most current technology and production facilities, there
is still much handwork employed to create chandeliers, wall sconces
and lamps that meet the highest of standards.
Many Wilshire creations
feature hand polishing of metal work that employs old-world techniques
to bring out the richness and beauty. The results are famous
Wilshire finishes, including the elegance of polished gold, lustrous
pewter, polished brass, antique brass, french gold, vintage gold,
vintage silver, antique patina, antique bronze and antique white,
among others. Wilshire styles and colors offer choices suitable
for every decor and all can be customized with special finishes
on demand.
In addition, much of
the art glass Wilshire uses is hand blown, hand cut, hand painted
or hand engraved by gifted artisans from around the world working
from Wilshire's proprietary designs.
A Resolute
Respect for the Environment
Wilshire is one of
the few manufacturers in America to rely on the most up-to-date,
environmentally safe chemicals, with in-house laboratories for
chemical analysis. Wilshire's air treatment facility recirculates
dust emissions, and compliant coatings are employed during the
painting process to improve air quality. Wilshire exceeds the
most exacting U.S. governmental agencies' requirements.
Wilshire also incorporates
the environmentally safe, tarnish-resistant, clear Electro Deposition
Coating (E-Coat) in all day-to-day plating. E-Coat adds enduring
luster and added value to a number of our products, and protects
against harmful UV rays and cleaning materials.
